Phoenix Area Prius Fan to be the First to Receive the 51 MPG Hybrid

The long wait for the arrival of the 3rd generation Toyota Prius will be a little shorter for Phoenix area resident Rick Johnson than for any other customer in the Southwest. The Phoenix area resident was notified by Toyota Motor Corporation this week that at 10:00 am on Tuesday June 2nd he would be the first in the region to take ownership of the 2010 Prius due to his long standing love affair with the hybrid car. Mr. Johnson purchased his first Toyota Prius in 2001 and loved the first generation hybrid so much he still owns it today. When the second generation Prius was announced in 2004 Mr. Johnson thought the extra improvements Toyota made to the car justified owning a second hybrid so he bought one of those too. And of course, when Toyota announced the 3rd generation model, Mr. Johnson was one of the first to put his order in. 

When Mr. Johnson was notified of the honor he was given a choice of any Valley Toyota Dealer to pick up his new car… and he chose Avondale Toyota.
