When you've had a rough day, sometimes all you want is for someone to recognize how you feel and respond in the way you need them to. Wouldn't you agree? As it turns out, that "someone" might just be your new Toyota vehicle.

As bizarre as it sounds, Toyota is currently working on a piece of technology that will allow future autos to sense your mood. Now, Avondale Toyota isn't implying that your future Toyota Camry will massage your back and cook you dinner when you're stressed. Rather, the unique system will operate with a more safety-oriented goal in mind.

Expected to make its debut in six years or earlier, the Toyota mood-sensing technology uses sensors to scan 238 different spots on your face. Once picking up on select facial expressions, the vehicle will be able to operate based on your specific driving needs. In the case of an angry driver, the system would warn of pedestrians in the road earlier than normal so the worked up driver has time to calm down and safely stop the vehicle in time.

While the mood-sensing system will not debut in its entirety for quite some time, Toyota officials say the technology might be available earlier on a smaller level.
