If you don't know already, most of the innovation, technology and quality Toyota parts found in the new Toyota lineup are a direct result of the hard workers at the Toyota Technical Center. And as it were, the Technical Center is celebrating 35-years of dedication by giving back to some very deserving community members.

Now we realize the typical celebration for an automaker's milestone would involve a big bash, or a few anniversary models. However, Toyota being the generous company it is, has decided instead to donate a total of $12,500 to six fire departments and $35,000 to nine non-profit groups including:

  • 826 Michigan
  • Ele's Place
  • The Lymphoma Research Foundation
  • And Growing Hope
  • 186th Street School
  • The Hope Clinic
  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
  • Packages from Home

And this isn't the Center's first charitable gesture either. In fact, center employees are strongly encouraged to participate in a variety of community service activities, and to date, 553 of them have.

"I am very proud of the Team Members," says Toyota Technical Center Vice President Ed Mantey. "In the Toyota spirit of giving back to our communities, the TTC Team Members demonstrate their commitment and are recognized by many citizens and community leaders throughout the year."1
