As a Toyota dealer serving the drivers of greater Phoenix, there are a few automotive attributes that we've come to expect from the Japanese brand. Offered with an array of other coveted qualities, perhaps the most desirable is efficiency.

Just think about it; the Japanese automaker champions fuel-economy with their Toyota Prius, which was the industry's first mass-produced gas-electric model. Now, in its third-generation, the 2013 hybrid earns a whopping 51 miles per gallon in the city and an equally ample 50mpg on the highway.

Certainly that's exciting; although it leaves us at Avondale Toyota Scion wondering what will come next. After all, our preferred automaker isn't known for simply resting on their laurels.

Excitingly, we should have an answer to that open-ended question at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show. During the event, which is scheduled to take place next month, the auto brand has announced that they'll unveil an all-new concept car, the Toyota Hybrid-R.

Yes, as the concept model's name implies, the Hybrid-R will feature gas-electric underpinnings; but that's only the beginning. You see, tongues are wagging that the 'R' stands for racing, and recently Toyota has accredited those speculations by announcing that the vehicle will implement the automaker's Hybrid System-Racing (THS-R).

Sound familiar? That's because the Toyota THS-R technology is used in their World Endurance Championship models, which means that the concept could be a precursor to an upcoming sports car.

Although with that said, it's important to note that the Japanese automaker hasn't made an official announcement to that end. Of course, when that happens, we'll update you via our Toyota blog. In the meantime, we welcome you to visit our showroom in Avondale, AZ with any questions!
