It seems the entire automotive world is obsessed with sports cars from our brand, and although they have not officially released one under their nameplate since the Supra, people still like to talk.  Speculation is rampant, and here at Avondale Toyota Scion we recently saw a third party rendering of a potential model.

The base of this rendering goes by many names, officially it is known as the Scion FR-S, but in some circles it is known as the Toyota GT86.  Either way, the popular and affordable coupe seems to have a bright future, as news points to a sedan version soon making its debut.

The virtual architecture company RM Design is responsible for the recent rendering of the new Toyota GT86 Sedan.  Adding two doors to the coupe, the design looks to keep the traditional look of a sportscar, while adding plenty of room for it to be family oriented.

Rumors have stated that this sedan version has received the go ahead from Toyota, while the convertible coupe was put on the backburner.  A concept version could be on the horizon, appearing at one of the major auto shows in the next year.

Of course details are unknown at the current time, but it would be expected Toyota carry over the coupes 2.0-liter Boxer four-cylinder engine.  Other variants could include the new hybrid drivetrain that we first saw inside the Yaris Hybrid R Concept, as well as Kinetic Energy Recovery technology similar to the system used by Formula One racers.

We look forward to hearing more about this concept as it is further developed, so stay in the know here on our blog.

It seems far off, but it is never too soon to think this sporty sedan could eventually become available in our inventory of new Toyota vehicles.  For our current lineup come by our showroom serving the entire Phoenix, Arizona region, and if anything catches your eye the professionals in our finance center can help you through the entire buying or leasing process.
