Toyota is an aficionado when it comes to engineering versatile models like the rugged Tacoma, family-friendly Sienna and vibrant Camry. Each of these vehicles offers different aspects of drivability and utility, loved equally across a range of drivers.

And they all have four wheels. So when the Japanese automaker arrived at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with an innovative model set on only three rollers, the exciting Toyota i-Road Concept understandably turned a lot of heads.

Speaking of turning, on the road this fresh concept does so with an 'Active Lean'. The engineering and Toyota parts that enables this technology are dynamic. Taking corners, the i-Road leans to adjust its stability matching the angle of the turn and the vehicle's speed with a gyro-sensor.

Did we mention that the i-Road is also a Toyota hybrid? Under the hood, a lithium-ion battery and two two-kilowatt electric motors powers the vehicle; which can conveniently be fully recharged in three hours with a home electrical outlet.

It's not likely that the i-Road concept will be a new Toyota model appearing in dealerships like ours serving Phoenix, in the near future. But if you've quickly fallen in love with the zippy car, not all hope is lost. The Japanese automaker is looking forward; the concept is arguably a great option for urban cities.
