Toyota: Thrilled to be Disruptive

For the second time in four years Toyota has landed a spot on a deceptively positive list: the '50 Most Disruptive Companies' per MIT. Perched on the Ivy League's MIT Technology Review, the Japanese automaker is one of only two from the industry to receive this year's honor.

And it is an honor; a very exciting one in fact. The list, put together annually, uses the term disruptive in the sense that the company is cutting-edge: making their competition change their mindset to be in the race.

At Avondale Toyota we're flattered, but not surprised. That's because the tendency of our favorite Japanese automaker to pioneer industry mechanics, particularly in regards to fuel economy, is a characteristic that we've come to expect.

In fact, the efficiency of models in the new Toyota lineup were highlighted in particular due to their progressive parts and hybrid technologies.

And understandably this push towards eco-friendly vehicles is well-received as consumers grow more discouraged by the prices at the pumps. From this unanimous distrust, Toyota is building a plethora of diverse green cars. From the formidable Highlander Hybrid to the leading Prius Hybrid, the automaker is offering an efficient option for every type of driver.
