Human Support Robot, and Toyota's Growing Commitment to Mobility

This month, Toyota opened a new research and development company, the Toyota Research Institute, with two locations in Silicon Valley, and Cambridge, MA.

TRI will be working closely with Stanford University and MIT to develop robotics, and artificial intelligence.

A big reason why is mobility.

Toyota already broke ground in 2011, when they became the first automaker to offer a factory-installed power lift seat in the Toyota Sienna.

The company's dedication to providing adaptive equipment and support for seniors and those with disabilities has been flourishing. The Human Support Robot demonstrates just one simple way robot assistance could change lives -- by picking things up from the floor, or high places.

With the launch of TRI, we hope to see even more sophisticated robots being developed right here in North America.

In the meantime, find out what kinds of specialized mobility equipment may be available in our new vehicles at Avondale Toyota Scion
