As much effort, talent and attention as Toyota puts into every vehicle the company sells, it’s worth a little extra time and attention from Toyota owners like you to keep your vehicle running like a Toyota. Whether you drive a Toyota RAV4, a Camry, Corolla, Highlander or 4Runner, your Toyota is a precision machine that needs precision, factory-recommended maintenance at Avondale Toyota to keep performing at its best for you.

How do you set up a Toyota maintenance plan? We can help

Toyota has comprehensive factory recommendations for everything from oil changes to brakes, transmission, tires and all the key components on your Toyota. It’s wise to follow Toyota general recommendations, of course, but your vehicle’s needs might vary depending on how you drive. For example, if you do a lot of stop-and-go in the city, you might need oil changes more often. Talk to us about your driving style and we’ll make a recommendation.

Toyota service intervals are your guide to a healthier Toyota

Toyota has been the one name you can count on every year to rank at or near the top of reliability rankings from respected authorities like Consumer Reports. But even a Toyota RAV4 or Toyota Tacoma needs regular, factory-recommended service and maintenance. Those intervals matter because they’re like regular diet and exercise for an Olympic athlete. They keep your Toyota performing at peak levels and help it last longer as well.

Example #1: Toyota service at 5,000 miles or 6 months

While we won’t attempt to list all service intervals here, a good place to start is at the 5,000-mile checkpoint. The most fundamental service of all, of course, is the regular, factory-recommended oil change. Although your Toyota might be able to do just fine with oil changes at 7,500 – 10,000-mile intervals, you can’t go wrong by doing it more often, especially if your vehicle isn’t driven a lot. Some key 5,000-mile services we recommend include:

  • Toyota oil and filter change
  • Tire rotation for all four tires
  • Inspect Toyota brake linings plus drums and brake pads/discs
  • Inspect and top off all your fluid levels

Why a Toyota oil change is so important

Your Toyota engine – like all automotive engines – is subjected to a lot of tiny invaders like dust and dirt, grime and metallic particles. They can infiltrate your engine through the normal course of driving around Avondale or Phoenix, AZ every day. High-quality, Toyota-approved motor oil rounds up all those uninvited guests like dirt and grime and ushers them unceremoniously out with every oil change, filling your engine with fresh new lubrication.

Example #2: At 10,000 miles or 12 months

With today’s more advanced synthetic motor oils, your Toyota Tundra or Land Cruiser might keep cruising along with oil changes in the range of 7,500 to 10,000 miles. If you do a lot of stop-and-go driving or driving in dusty conditions, we might recommend more frequent intervals like every 5,000 miles. But no later than every 10,000 miles or 12 months, here are some key services our customers in Tempe and Glendale AZ should ask us to do:

  • Toyota motor oil and filter change
  • Check and top off all key fluid levels
  • Inspect your brakes, including the linings and drums, discs and brake pads
  • Inspect your windshield wiper blades
  • Tire rotation for all 4 tires
