With the need for fuel efficient vehicles increasing every day due either to rising gas prices or eco-friendliness, many automakers are trying to produce green versions of their flagship models. And, to this end, there are more hybrid autos than ever before. Even the original, single Toyota Prius offering has now evolved into a whole Prii lineup including the Prius v, Prius c and Prius Plug-In. And with the fuel efficient new Toyota autos expanding the way they are, we at Avondale Toyota can't help but wonder what might be next.
And, the answer, it may surprise you - it does us a little. That's because Toyota may be planning a hybrid variant of its 2014 RAV4. The completely revamped RAV4 was recently introduced at the Los Angeles International Auto Show, and in the short time since has garnered the attention of auto enthusiasts who are praising the new model and speculating about the possible hybrid offering.
Being the intelligent company it is, however, Toyota will make sure that there is a market demand great enough to warrant the inclusion of a Hybrid RAV4. "We are watching the market," explains Yoshikazu Saeki, Deputy Chief Engineer at Toyota. "After introducing the new RAV4 we will see. There will be a possibility of introducing a hybrid RAV4 and we will respond to what the market wants."1
We have no doubt Toyota will make the right decision, whatever that ends up being. We're curious to know what your opinion is; do you think a RAV4 Hybrid is a good idea?
