Days before the recent 2012 North American International Auto Show, Toyota released a teaser video for the NS4 Concept. Shot to an electronic tune with lots of digital lines and vibes, the minute-long clip signified a highly futuristic vibe for the upcoming plug-in hybrid. As it turns out, the teaser was spot on. Unveiled to the public at Detroit, the Toyota NS4 Plug-In Hybrid exemplifies what's to come in the automotive industry. Namely, we mean digital connectivity.

Operating under the idea that the vehicle of tomorrow should draw on both a driver's emotional and practical driving needs, Toyota has created the NS4 with ultra-sleek styling and equipped it with an advanced Human-Machine Interface (HMI). Built around a smartphone-like multi-touch screen, the Toyota HMI system conveniently connects humans with the outside world. This technology is critical for the industry's future considering that connected vehicles are reportedly the third-fastest growing digital device. Number one and two on the list? Yep, you guessed it. Consumers eat up smartphones and tablets like no other.

At this point in the game, powertrain specifics remain elusive. However, Toyota has made it clear that if the NS4 hits production it will not be getting the same drive as that found in the Toyota Prius and its lineup. Instead, the model will reach further into the feature with a next-generation Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive plug-in system.

Avondale Toyota at 10005 West Papago Freeway Avondale, AZ 85323 is more than a little excited to see what will come of this highly-advanced, potentially game-changing concept.
